The Cannon and Capital Factory Partner to Accelerate Houston Startups
HOUSTON, (May 23, 2019) – The Cannon, an innovation hub for Houston’s entrepreneurs, has partnered with Texas-based tech accelerator Capital Factory. The partnership gives Capital Factory Accelerator companies based in Houston a local office to operate from for their first 6 months. The Cannon will create a dedicated Capital Factory-branded space for companies to work from and provide Cisco Webex video conferencing equipment for connecting to remote mentors. Capital Factory members will gain access to The Cannon’s entrepreneurial community of mentors, resources, and fundraising opportunities and The Cannon’s members will gain access to the Capital Factory’s network.
Capital Factory to add two Houston-based positions
As part of their commitment to the Houston market, Capital Factory will hire a venture associate to assist with finding new Houston-based companies to join their Accelerator program and prospective investments for Capital Factory’s venture fund. The fund has invested in several Houston-based start-ups such as Apartment Butler, Groupraise, Hypergiant, and Zenus Biometrics in 2018.
Capital Factory will also hire a mentor coordinator to expand its mentor network to Houston in partnership with The Cannon. Utilizing the Union.vc software platform, members from both communities will be able to seamlessly access mentors and fundraising opportunities from both communities. Other Houston-based entrepreneurial communities and tech hubs are also invited to join.

Capital Factory will host regular entrepreneurial-themed events at The Cannon, open to the entire Houston startup community, building on the expertise they have developed in creating exceptional entrepreneurial communities in Austin and, more recently, in Dallas with the opening of Capital Factory in partnership with The Dallas Entrepreneur Center.

Partnership already paying off for Houston startups
Aaron Knape, Co-Founder and CEO of sEATz, a Houston-based startup that gives fans the ability to have products delivered to them at events via their smartphone, has already seen the benefits of the partnership. “The Cannon and Capital Factory’s partnership has proven to be a game-changing resource for us, giving our team access to Capital Factory’s incredible Accelerator platform while allowing our company to remain in Houston and continue to receive all of the benefits of The Cannon’s growing entrepreneurial community,” said Knape.
