Houston Area / Full-Time Hourly / 30-40 hrs/week / $13.00-$15.00/hour / Reports to Member Experience Manager / Occasional travel to other Cannon locations

To apply: Send your resume to talent@thecannon.com with the subject line: Member Experience Coordinator Applicant.

About This Role

The Member Experience Coordinator leads the member experience at one of The Cannon's operating locations, owning the day-to-day, building genuine relationships with members, and keeping the space running with care and consistency. You are the primary point of contact for members and the first impression for anyone who walks through the door, from the first visit through onboarding and ongoing membership.

You will step into a fully operating location with immediate ownership. You will conduct tours, work closely with the Member Experience Manager to move conversations forward and support retention, and have a real impact on the operational and community health of the location. Consistent strong performance here creates a clear path to a full salaried position as The Cannon continues to grow in 2027.

What You'll Own

  • Lead the member experience at your location, building genuine relationships from day one and serving as the trusted point of contact across every member touchpoint.
  • Conduct tours for walk-ins and scheduled visits, then work closely with the Member Experience Manager to follow up, move conversations forward, and support leasing outcomes.
  • Lead new member orientations and establish a strong foundation from the start.
  • Proactively gather and act on member feedback, resolving issues before they escalate.
  • Oversee daily operations including front desk, facilities, inventory, conference rooms, and the overall rhythm of the location.
  • Identify operational gaps and process improvements and see them through.
  • Represent The Cannon with a consistent standard of professionalism and hospitality

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who leads with genuine care, takes ownership without being asked, and understands that the experience they create directly shapes how members feel about The Cannon. Here is what that looks like in practice:

  1. Build real relationships. Know members by name, understand their work, and show up for them in a way that builds lasting trust.
  2. Own the experience. From the first tour through renewal, you set the tone for what it means to be a Cannon member.
  3. Keep things running. Stay ahead of operations, anticipate what needs attention, and handle it with consistency.
  4. Communicate with clarity. Flag challenges early, share wins, and keep the Member Experience Manager well informed.
  5. Think forward. Bring ideas that improve the space, the experience, and the community around you.

A strong communicator with a genuine passion for hospitality and people, you bring at least one year of experience in a customer-facing role, solid operational instincts, and the ability to work independently while staying connected to your team. You take initiative, hold yourself to a high standard, and are excited to grow within a company that is invested in your development. If that sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

Coworking is rapidly becoming one of the fastest-growing industries, fueled by the pandemic and the rise of hybrid work. Beyond 2023, this trend is set to soar even higher. As of June 2022, there are over 28,000 coworking spaces worldwide, with more than 6,200 in the US alone. By 2026, the global coworking market size is expected to reach $30 billion. By 2030, flexible workspaces are projected to comprise 30% of all corporate commercial real estate, up from roughly 5% today.

The Cannon is Redefining Coworking for the Benefit of our Real Estate Partners

Traditional coworking is about aesthetically pleasing workspaces in convenient locations at reasonable prices and the customers of these venues typically view the space as ‘a nice place to work with some great perks’. In this scenario, the Real Estate Owner is viewed as the landlord.

The Cannon is in the business of building community and a primary need of that community is workspace. When The Cannon establishes a new innovation hub in partnership with a building owner, we are focused on supporting the success and growth of the startups and small businesses that occupy the workspace and, by doing so, create a high retention environment that incubates early-stage businesses into long term building portfolio tenants for our Real Estate Partners.

COMMUNITY ASSOCIATE

Greater Houston Area / Part-Time / $13.00/hour / Reports to Member Experience Training Manager / Requires travel to other Cannon Locations in Houston, TX

To apply: Send your resume to talent@thecannon.com with the subject line: Community Associate Applicant.

About This Role

The Community Associate is a flexible, part-time role supporting front desk operations across Cannon locations in Houston. You will be the first person members and guests interact with when they step into The Cannon, which means you set the tone for the entire experience. When our team needs coverage, you are the trusted person we call on to come in and keep things running. Whatever comes up that day, you handle it with care and a customer-first approach.

This is a great fit for a student or someone early in their career looking for part-time work in an energetic, people-first environment. At The Cannon you will be surrounded by some of Houston's top companies and founders, with real exposure to customer experience, operations, events, and sales.

What You'll Do

  • Cover the front desk at Cannon locations across Houston, delivering a warm, professional hospitality experience to every member and guest who walks through the door.
  • Field inquiries, manage conference room bookings, handle mail and deliveries, and keep operations running smoothly throughout your shift.
  • Develop a working knowledge of membership benefits, pricing, and availability so you can assist members confidently and with care.
  • Walk the floor regularly, maintain cleanliness and organisation, and ensure the space consistently reflects the standard The Cannon holds.
  • Support the team across events, administrative tasks, and day-to-day operational needs.
  • Travel between Cannon locations as needed to provide coverage as this is a multi-location support role.

What We're Looking For

More than anything, we want someone who genuinely cares about the people around them and takes pride in the space they are part of. Here is what that looks like day to day:

  1. Be a bright part of someone's day. A good morning, a smile, remembering someone's name, knowing that the small things make a real difference.
  2. Take pride in the space. If something needs attention, take care of it. You will notice things others walk past.
  3. Get to know the community. Learn who members are and what they are working on. That is what makes this more than just a front desk job.
  4. Be helpful and present. Show up on time, be someone members and the team can count on, and look for ways to make someone's day a little easier.
  5. Bring your ideas. If you notice an opportunity for improvement, we'd love to hear it. We value team members who bring fresh perspectives and attention to detail.

A positive attitude, strong people skills, and a genuine interest in hospitality and customer experience go a long way here. Experience in a customer-facing role is a plus, and if this is your first one, even better - we love developing people who are excited to learn.

  • Travel between Cannon locations as needed to provide coverage as this is a multi-location support role.
