Baker Botts Joins Houston’s Entrepreneurial Campus at The Cannon

[Houston, Texas | August 6, 2019] The Cannon, a 120,000 square foot startup co-working space and entrepreneurial hub in Houston, has announced a strategic partnership with law firm Baker Botts L.L.P., days after its completed construction date.

Leveraging its startup and venture capital experience in Silicon Valley, Baker Botts will be a valued resource for early-stage companies and small businesses at The Cannon’s Main Campus, just north of City Centre on the west side of Houston.

“We are thrilled to have this fundamental strength and resource in an area of business [legal] that can be confusing and sometimes debilitating for entrepreneurs,” said Maigen Berg, Managing Director of Cannon Ventures.

“We are excited to educate The Cannon’s entrepreneurs on the nuances of formation, venture capital financing, protecting their technology and data, and a range of other business and legal issues unique to startups, which can help them succeed,” added Baker Botts partner Natasha Khan, who is co-leading the partnership for the firm.

The strategic partnership will stage a year-long platform of educational programming, innovation, and problem-solving for startups, entrepreneurs, investors and innovators across the entrepreneurial stack. Baker Botts will also provide in-person access to startups to discuss a range of legal and business considerations.
